NCCVL-W League Championships – Finalized

The teams playing for the NCCVL women’s title have been announced.  The teams face-off this weekend at Cal Poly.  Matches are best 3 out of 5 sets.
  • Division 1
    • 1. Cal Poly v. winner of 4. Stanford v. 5. Chico St.
    • 2. UC Davis v. 3. UC Berkeley
  • Division 2
    • 1S. Cal Poly II v. winner of 2N St. Mary’s v. 3S Fresno St.
    • 1N. Sac St. v. winner of 2S SFSU v. 3N UC Davis II

Congrats to the UCLA women (D1), Point Loma women (D2), Arizona St. men (D1), and Claremont men (D2) for winning the Southern California league titles!  

NCCVL-W League Championships

The NCCVL-W league championships for D1 and D2 will be on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Cal Poly.  All matches are best of 5.   At the conclusion of each match, league awards will be presented.  In Division 1, currently four teams have qualified: UC Davis, Cal Poly, Cal and Stanford.  Chico and Santa Clara are the two possible teams that can qualify for the last spot, depending on the outcome of Santa Clara’s match this weekend.  In Division 2, currently five teams have qualified: Cal Poly II, Sac St., UC Davis II, St. Mary’s, and SFSU.  U. San Francisco and Fresno St. are the two possible teams that can qualify for the last spot, depending on the outcome of their matches this weekend.

Women’s League Championships

Congratulations to UCSB (West #2), Stanford (West #12), UCSB II (D2 #10), and Cal Poly II (D2 #1) for winning their respective regions and divisions.   

In the south, UCSB beat UCLA (West #5) in 3 to earn a spot in the semi-finals.  UCSB then defeated San Diego St. (West #5 ) to enter the finals.  UCSB defeated UCSD (West #7) to win the south D1 title.  UCSB II rounded out the sweep by capturing the south D2 title.

In the north, Stanford defeated UC Berkeley (West #8), UC Davis (West #3), and Cal Poly (#10) to win the north D1 title.  Cal Poly II beat San Jose St. II (D2 #9) and UC Davis (D2 #9).  L. Lindner from San Jose St. II was named the NCCVL-W’s coach-of-the-year.
