Women’s California Rankings – 3/6/15

Congrats to the new #1 ranked D1 team, UC Davis!  The team defeated #2 UCSB and #3 Cal Poly on its way to the title.

Rankings are determined by the CCVC Ranking Panel (5 Division 1 members and 4 Division 2 members).  Each member ranks teams from top to bottom.  A point system is used in reverse order of ranking: if there are 20 teams, a 1st place vote is worth 20 points, 2nd place is worth 19 points, and so on.  Total points are counted for each team and then teams are ranked based on total points.  No set criteria is used for ranking teams, although panel members use a combination of objective and subjective criteria.  Each panel member uses results (objective) from the season to assist with their determination (subjective).  There are no restrictions on how to vote.
