The All-State Men finished 13th, the All-State Women finished 13th, the Men Alumni finished 17th, and the Women Alumni finished 20th. All-State Teams

The CCVC is proud to announce this year’s All-State teams!  (2014 CCVC All-State Teams)  Coaches and players from throughout the state selected players based on their play at MLK Battle of the Bay, Far Westerns, State Championships, league, and nationals.  A special shout out to this year’s MVPs.  N. England #13, OH, led the UC Irvine men’s team to a league title and a 2nd place finish at nationals while E. Sherwood #3, OH, led the UCSB women’s team to a league title, a State Championship, and a 9th place finish at nationals. The coach of the year on the men’s side, S. Dhillon, has turned Sacramento St. into a perennial powerhouse.  He has seen his team finish 9th in the country for the last two years. The coach of the year on the women’s side, goes to long-time coach D. Wazny at UCSB.  He coached his team to a State Championship, a league title (3 titles in the last 4 years), a 2nd place finish at MLK Battle of the Bay, and a 9th place finish at nationals.    Many of this year’s All-State players, and players from the past, will represent California at the upcoming USA Volleyball Open National Championships in Phoenix, Arizona.

Reno Finishes and All-Americans

Nationals in Reno, NV, is in the books.  33 California men’s teams attended (the most to ever attend nationals), and 23 women’s teams competed.  Cal Poly II-W and UC Irvine-M added to California’s history of bringing home hardware by capturing the new Division 3 championship (Cal Poly II-W) and by placing 2nd in Division 1 (UC Irvine-M).  A number of players earned All-Amercian honors.  You can see this year’s recipients and past recipients under the men’s and women’s history sections.  Below is a summary of each California team’s finish in Reno.  Congratulations to all teams on a successful 2014 season.    Men’s Teams
